Hi Everyone!
It's almost time for our family reunion which will take place July 30 - August 2nd. There will be lots going on and a few changes to the reunion this year - be sure to read the schedule of events to make sure you're there for the events on time!
Over the years, the talent show has dwindled but we still want to see your talent! If you do anything that shows off yours or your kids talent and you're willing to bring to the reunion - bring it! Let's show off our family's talent! We'll display it under the shelter so everyone can ooo and ahhh.
Work Party
There will be a work party the weekend before the reunion. (The 24th) We do need volunteers to help get the grounds ready as usual – if people can come with their lawn mowers, whipper snippers and hand mowers, things will get done quickly. The tarp needs to go up onto the shelter and we also need people to trim trees and branches and pick up wood.
Contact Bill and Kathy if you can participate.
Schedule of Events:
Friday Night:
- Set up tents/campers
- Have a fire and corn roast
- Bring your guitars or any other instruments that are good for around the fire
Saturday:
- 10:00 am: Red Neck Horseshoe Tournament for the Adults. There will be a Tim Hortons gift card for the winner. Be sure to sign up for it before 10am.
- 1:00-2:00: Watermelon contest and water balloon contest
- 4:00 pm: Story time for the kids with Groundkeeper Billy.
- 5:00 pm: Potluck Supper. Bring your food to the shelter.
- Corn Roast and Camp Fire – bring your instruments to the fire
Sunday:
- 10:00am-12:00pm: Kids Games. This is a busy day and the games will start at 10:00am sharp.
- 12:00pm-1:30pm: Lunch
- 1:30 pm: Family photo in front of the Duff Reunion sign.
- 2:00-4:00 pm: Adult Scottish Games.
- 2:00-4:00pm - Possibly a Treasure Hunt with David Wayne for the kids...
- 4:00ish – Executive Meeting. If you have a concern or suggestions for the reunion, this is the time to let us know. Please keep your comments and concerns calm.
- 5:00: Supper.
- Hamburgers - $2.00
- Hotdogs - $1.00
- Leftovers from potluck and any other contributions are welcome.
- 6:00ish: Awards, auction and raffle. If you have anything to auction or raffle off, donations are accepted.
Swimming is available between the times of 8am-8pm. Only with adult supervision. Potty mouth is not acceptable- there have been complaints. This is not our cottage and we need to be respectful of the owners dock. If there are any complaints from the owners, individuals will be banned.
Volunteers
We're missing a few volunteers. We currently have:

- Andy - hamburger patties
- Corey & Terri - kids drinks
- Kid's Games - Cheryl Massey
- Condiments and plates- Nancy Sproule

- Ribbons and 20 Year pins - Kathy Ogg Moss
We NEED help with:
- purchase of napkins
- purchase of 2 Large Rolls of Toilet Paper
- purchase of 4 watermelons
- Raffles
- 50/50 Tickets
- Adult Games

There will be a donation box under the shelter all weekend which will go towards supplies and repairs for the reunion. A few things need to be repaired, like the Duff Reunion sign.
Games
Some of the changes that will take place this year includes the kids games. We are going to focus more on our Scottish heritage and play some Scottish games with the kids - gotta train them up for the Adult games!
Children 0-3 will compete in a beanbag toss, shoe throw and a running race.
Kids 4-15 will compete in a running race, caber toss and stone throw.
Tartan Tickets and Auction
You don’t have to attend the reunion to win a prize. There will be a raffle for a beautiful framed Tartan as well as an auction for all of the remaining Duff items that Wayne Duff will bring to the reunion. You can buy a raffle ticket for $10.00 each by contacting Kathy Ogg-Moss. Bring your cash or cheque book to participate in the auction. The tartan will be raffled off at the 2010 reunion.
